Living Forward

What does it mean to give tangible hope to a person returning from years of incarceration?

When someone has been out of the workforce for a while, it can take some help to get back up to speed on how things work and what skills are needed. When you add in being removed from society and having a record, it makes everything nearly impossible without help. It’s hard to find a place to live, find a job. How can you dress for success when you can barely afford the necessities? How do you have a resume, without an address, proper email and internet access?

Living Forward Goals

This class offers a comprehensive program designed to foster personal skill development and enhance employment readiness, equipping the participant with the essential tools for success. Attendees receive focused training, including crucial interview preparation, to confidently navigate the job market and secure diverse employment opportunities. Beyond professional growth, the course emphasizes the whole person, family and social reconnection and social integration skills, helping rebuild vital community ties. By developing these skills and connections, graduates will be empowered to make a meaningful community impact, all while benefiting from support, encouragement, and resources provided throughout the program and beyond.

In the first Living Forward in 2025, fourteen participants took part in reentry training that equipped them with tools for success — including interviews with Express Employment, connecting them to local companies that hire individuals with barriers to employment. They also received an incredible opportunity through Cornerstone University’s SOAR program, where they can pursue a Bachelor’s degree at little to no cost between FAFSA support and a special scholarship provided by Tangible Hope Ministries.

We are currently planning for our next scheduled classes.

Participants are welcome to join at any time, however we encourage you to attend all sessions.

You can’t change the past, but together we can reverse the future.
